Wednesday, August 14th, the P6F Coaching Workshop Series in partnership with Leading Teams took centre stage at the National Tennis Centre in Melbourne – the home of the Australian Open.
An elite delegation of guest speakers from some of the biggest sporting organisations in Australia, gathered to present and share their philosophies and experiences on culture and leadership in discussing ‘turning potential into performance; a team and individual approach to youth development’.
The Foundation raised over $3000 from the day.
In what was a fantastic turnout for the Foundation coaches, administrators, and high-performance managers from various sporting codes were treated to some amazing insights and stories around developing teams, individuals, and identifying talent.
Our great speakers included:
- Brett McLennan – Tennis Australia
- David Arnfield – Leading Teams
- Drew Sherman – Melbourne Victory
- Frank Ponissi – Melbourne Storm
- Brenton Sanderson – Collingwood Football Club
- Meirion Jones – Melbourne Storm
Attendees were also treated to an intimate interview with Collingwood AFL footballer and All Australian Ruckman, Brodie Grundy, who gave a candid and refreshing insight into his junior development days and journey into the AFL system as a high draft pick. He talked about his challenges and experiences of transitioning and adapting to the elite demands and standards in becoming a professional AFL footballer. It was indeed a remarkable and honest into sight in his professional journey so far which had the audience captivated.
A very big thank you to our volunteer support staff, Tennis Australia and the Australian Tennis Magazine for helping host the day and promoting the workshop.
Also, thank you to our gift partner Hey Diddle Wines from the Barossa Valley region in South Australia, who provided our speakers with a bottle of their 2018 Montepulciano selection. You can also check out more here about their premium selection of fine wines.
We look forward to our third and final workshop in Sydney later in the year.
