On Sunday, June 9th, Project Six Foundation conducted its first Coach Workshop as part of the ‘P6F Coach Workshop Series’ at the Port Adelaide Football Club in Alberton, South Australia.
Six great speakers presented various topics ranging from: ‘A simple framework for FUNdamental youth development: from Grassroots to Grand Slams for junior tennis players, to breaking down an AFL warm up: a holistic and practical approach, to developing strength and power for change of direction, to what a coach looks for in strength and conditioning: linking S&C to coaching, to injury for the adolescent athlete’.
It was a great blend of theory and practice with attendees engaging in good discussion and practicals while also obtaining an insight into how evidence based research is applied to training environments and the challenges and considerations for developing children, youth and elite professional athletes.
A BIG thank you to all our great speakers for their time and contribution on the day;
Tom Mabon – Tennis Australia
Nick Richardson – Port Adelaide Football Club
Matt Evans – High Performance Tennis
Daniel Rogers – Port Adelaide Football Club
Domenic Marafiote – High Performance Tennis

Thank you also to High Performance Tennis and Mitcham Rehab and Marion Sports Physio for their support of the event, and also to the Port Adelaide Football Club for the use of their high performance training facility.
